Artists often approach the gallery with inquiries to submit their work to be shown. Below, I offer a few helpful tips, in addition to the link with specific details for submission to this gallery:
1. It is important that you have been to the gallery, and know that your work fits the gallery space. A gallery owner works very hard to develop good working relationships with its' patrons, usually has a significant overhead, and is careful to curate the gallery space to suit its' clientele.
2. Please do not put the gallery owner on the spot in public, on facebook, or any form of social media. Do not demand that your work be considered. This is good manners. It is respectful. Moreover, it gives the gallery owner an idea of what you are like to work with. If you are not easy to deal with, it is likely you will not be considered at all. Period. If you have a question for the gallery owner, send an email or make a phone call.
3. After your work has been submitted, it is certainly permissible to do a follow up email or phone call. Pretend as if you are your own secretary. Simply say, "Hello! This is, so and so, I am calling/emailing to follow up about the submission sent. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!"
4. Also know, if you are not accepted on the first attempt, do not give up. You may be contacted at a later date.
